H4 Extension

Our Visas expired this January and we have the extension papers ready. Now my wife is going to India. As our passport carries the expired visa, she has to go for an H4 extension. Can she go for H4 Visa extension?
I have the H1 extension papers but I don't have new visa stamping in my passport as I didnot leave the country since my I got my extension papers.

Please advice.
