I am currently on L1 visa and planning for a job shift. I found a new employer who is ready to sponsor my H1 VISA. But because of some personal reasons, I will not be able to work for my new employer till Jan 2008.
I have been told that my new H1 will be effective from Oct 1 2007 and I have to join my new employer within 30 days. Is there any option where instead of changing my status from L1 to H1 on Oct , can do it on a future date? If so then what happens if I go on an international vacation some time in November 2007. Please advise.
