Passport Expiring in 3 Months, H1 Filing

Hi,

My friend is planning to file his H1 in the coming quota which opens on April 1st. His passport is expiring on May 22nd 2007 and he is going to renew it.

Can he go ahead and file his H1 in April while he gets a new passport? Are there any terms with regard to validity of the passport when you file your H1?

The expiration date of the passport should be at least 6 months after the end date of employment requested.
I would reccommend him to renew his passpost as soon as possible and file all documents with the new details
