Status Change H4 to H1

Hi,

I will be getting my H1 filed on Apr 1, 07.

Currently I am on H4 and it is valid till Sep 30, 07.
Can I travel to India in May/June 07 on the H4. I believe I must complete the travel before my H1 approval comes through. What is the time frame for H1 approval?

iam also exactly on the same situation.iam also doing to h4 to h1 filing this april'07.i am going to India on may and coming back on jun1.is there any problem for my h1 approval if i go Inida.can i come back to u.s with my h4 status.
