Hi all,
Attended interview at New Delhi consulate on 22nd March..
for H1b. Went like this
>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Consular officer(@ 4 counter-square specks) : Why do u have 3 addresses on DS-156 form?
Myself : My consulting comp is based in New Jersey, showed project details(location portland oregan) and since i was asked where i would stay
(gave a temp address of friends in san jose, calif) and told him
that company will notify me, where i would be placed later.
Myself : Showed passport/offer letter from firm(Mindlance Inc,New Jersey)
offer of $70k/annum+bonus+benefits, 1 yr signing bond ,Sr ASIC design , Consular officer : Asked me to take fingerprints.
Consular officer : This is going to our fraud unit ..(repeats loudly !!)
Myself : Nod and go away..
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Friends, I have worked for top firms in San jose,Silicon valley(Adaptec,Cadence etc) for 6years in USA. Working in india from 3.5yrs in same area(chip design,EDA
software area).Have a MSEE from Oklahoma State university,USA.
Payed all taxes in USA for 6 yrs.
I was not inclined to take this offer, but Mindlance inc officials, convinced me
that they are Intel's preffered client for contract projects.
I cross checked on Yahoo search for <Intel Mindlance> and a lot of
American citizens have worked through Mindlance on Intel corp projects.
Have a very clear record of both INS /IRS tax filing, no convictions
when i was in USA of any kind..only 2 minor traffic speed tickets, never
over stayed in US even for a single day. 4 times (f1,h1,b1)VISA was issued
by US consulate previously in Chennai, New Delhi, Juarez Mexico
Why do they issue me a 221-g yellow form and suspect
a fraud case (just because of Indian consulting firmworking in US firm)
& maybe my south indian roots.
I noticed "fair skinned north indian guys/girls with no prev US
experience" getting their visas without an issue.
Both my younger sis/brother are fair skinned but im of mixed blood
as most indians are (90% brown/black color).
Discrimination for a job or a visa is the wrong/same. Good luck..if my US visa
isnt issued i wont fret will work in india.
