converting from H1 to H4(very urgent)

Hi All,
i got my H1 in the month of oct 2006.the project was only 3 months ,i finished it in dec.from jan iam not able to find job and iam busy with my baby
so i decided to convert to H4. what is the procedure to convert to H4?
i do not have paystubs for jan,feb,mar months.I even got my H1 stamped in mexico in dec i thought proj could get extended.so please help me in this?
1)what are the documents needed to convert to h4?
2)how long will it take to convert from H1 to H4?
Iam planning to go india in the month of dec 2007 and get h4 stamped
in chennai consulate. is it possible?
