H1B getting Married to an green card holder

Hi,
Can anyone let me know whats the actual procedure for an H1B person after getting married to an Green card holder.

Both are In US right now.

How can the one with h1B get the green card?

Two options:

1) H-1B files I-485 and GC holder files I-130 simultaneously
or
2) wait until GC holder becomes citizen, then do the above.

I've been told by USCIS that they will give higher preference to the spouses to Citizens, rather than GC holders. Spouse of a Citizen may get greencard in 6 months. Spouse of a GC holder may get GreenCard in 5 years time. So wait for citizenship if you want it to go faster.
