  • H1 transfer - change in job profile?? Need urgent help!

    Hi,

Currently, I am on H1 and I work as a HR manager(thats the title for H1) - mainly into technical recruiting.

I am interested in going into Peoplesoft HRMS now, and want to tranfer H1, but that will be a change in Job duties. And maybe a different resume needs to be sent because it is a technical field. Although there is a connection, because even for Peoplesoft I will be working for HR modules.

I have an undergrad degree in computer engineering from india, and a masters in human resource management from USA.

Is this okay?? Would I get the H1 transfer approval or is it a risk??

Would Two different resumes with the INS pose any risks for the greencard process??

Please help me with this urgently!!

    Thanks,
    Moorty

    H1 and profession

---- Changing your line of work/type of profession etc. has no bearing on the issuance of a H1 approval notice. It is solely upto the employer and you to convince the USCIS that you are the best person suited for the job

Would Two different resumes with the INS pose any risks for the greencard process??

---- USCIS (INS) has nothing to do with your resumes. They are only kept on file. Greencard is a totally different process and you have to convince the USCIS once again about your credentials when you apply for the green card and proceed from tehre onwards

      Urgent help required please

I am probably in a similar situation.

I am currently working for Company A on H1b (approved with Masters and Bachelors in Mechanical Engg).

I got an offer from Company B; but because it's a silicon valley company, I told them I have a Bachelors in Computer Science Engg (false) and Masters in Mechanical Engg (which is correct)

I actually have both Bachelors and Masters in Mechanical Engg, but not in Comp. Science

So the new Company B would like to transfer my H1b and since my original degree certificates do not have anything mentioned about my Major field, Company B wouldn't actually know about this when I send them copies, they just have Bachelors and Masters mentioned. But when Company B sends the H1b transfer packet to USCIS containing my new Comp. Science degree credentials , will the USCIS go back to my first H1b file (containing both degrees in Mechanical) and reject my H1b transfer because of this major field of study conflict?

      Looking forward to your response.

      Thanks
      Arjun
