H1 Transfer & Extension - All questions - Mr. Subramanya Please help

Hi,
I got my H1 stamped from Company "A" and is valid till Oct' 2007. Now I got an offer from Company "B" and I would like to get my H1 transferred.

1. Can Company "B" file for H1 Tranfer and H1 Extension simultaneously?

2. If yes, are these 2 seperate application or just one application for both?

3. What are charges (approx cost) for H1 Transfer & Extension (applied simultaneously)?

4. When I can start working for Company "B" if extension and transfer are applied simultaneously?

5. If applied simultaneously, how much time it takes to get extension and how much time it takes for transfer?

Here are some answers,

1. Can Company "B" file for H1 Tranfer and H1 Extension simultaneously?
Ans. yes

2. If yes, are these 2 seperate application or just one application for both?
Ans. 1 Application, Lawyer will have to answere few questions specific to extension and H1 transfer to new employer

3. What are charges (approx cost) for H1 Transfer & Extension (applied simultaneously)?
Ans. Not sure, depends what you select regular process or Premium

4. When I can start working for Company "B" if extension and transfer are applied simultaneously?
Ans. As soon as you H1B transfer & Extension papers reaches to USCIS and you get receipt no. you can legally start working with Company 'B'.
