My company sponsored me H1B last year (2006) and they told me (orally) that I have to stay with the company for at least a year (until October 2007) because of the sponsorship. But this is never written on any form of paperwork and I have not signed anything which mentioned this restriction. In view of this, I have the following questions:
1. Is it legal for the company to make me stay with the job for a year?
2. If it has not been written on any paperwork that I have to stay with the company, does it mean I can actually switch jobs before October 2007?
