H1-B transfer

Hi,

I am working for company X on H1-B. I would like to transfer my visa to company Y. Before I start working for company Y I will have to go to India. And the transfer also I have to do it before I go back to India.

I heard that I have to go to the consulate again for visa stamping before coming back to USA. Do I need to have any pay checks from the new employer to attend the stamping? Will it be a problem? Please suggest.
