H1 approved but status not changed

Dear Readers/advisors

My wife got H1B approval on Aug 2006 However status not changed. That time she was pragent we not unable to go out of the country. Now we dicided to stay in H4 and take care of kid. She is feeling homesick now planning to go india. Here my questions are

1) Can she go for H4 stamping instead of H1.

2) We applied her H4 extension. Is that ok to apply H4 extension. Her H4 is getting expired on july 2007.

---- Yes, she can go for H4 stamping
2) We applied her H4 extension. Is that ok to apply H4 extension. Her H4 is getting expired on july 2007.

---- If your wife is going to India (assuming travel is before July) and also getting the H4 stamped why do you need to apply for the extension
