H1 extension and H4 for family

Hi,

My H1 stamping is valid till Sep 2008 of the company X. I changed the employer and the new employers I 797 is valid till Oct 2007. On my passport stamping is still of old employer.
I wish to get it extended. Is there any timeframe before which I have to get the extension applied.

My wife is in India. I need to get her H4. Can I apply for her H4 with the H1(I797) being valid till Oct 2007? Or I need to apply after I get extension.

if she wants to be here soon then she can apply for H4 but her stamp will only be till Oct 2007 ( unless VO decides to match ur stamp) so remember to apply for her extension as well as yours.
