H1b Transfer query

I am having H1b from comp A. But I have never travelled to US on this H1b. Whether the H1b visa will be still valid if i join comp B and if they are ready to transfer my H1b visa?

Your visa will not be valid if you travel to join in company B. You need to get a new H1B visa stamping with company B's name on it.

If you want to avoid going to the consulate, what you can do is travel to US, join in company A and later on you can switch company.

Rathi why dont you try getting a new H1 stamp when the current is still a valid one. The consulate will refuse to issue one.

The name is not important in this case. to travel for Company B you will need a new I-797 with B's name on it. The actual stamp name deos not matter. Just saying that you applied for extension will not work.
