Getting visa stamping on new H1 i-797 notice

Hi,
i have a my i-797 valid from 09/30/2006 to 09/28/2007. i am planning to go to India in August and coming back on Aug 21 2007. i am planning to get the stamping done there. the issue is i will get the visa only till 09/28/2007 since my H1 is valid only till that month.
I told my HR to get me a renewed i-797 since my i-140 is cleared i am expecting to get the i-797 to be renewed for 3 years. my question is what will be the validity period for the new i-797. Will it be from 09/30/2007 to 09/28/2010. if this is the case can i appear for visa interview based on new -797, since it will be good for me to get the visa for three years.

---- This depends as to how you (or your HR) has applied for renewal dates and then the exact dates that appear on teh H1 approval notice. Till you get the approval notice in hand nobody knows what ar teh dates. REst is speculation.
