H1 approved petition..not mailed

My H1 petition is approved and is confirmed by my employer...and he is asking me to join under his payrolls.As of now am not willing to join.can i ask for the shipment of petition?by how much time can i expect an approved petition from my employer? and as am on L2 do i need to sign the COS?both the approved petition n COS will be shipped to me?if i delay to sign the COS can he withhold the petition or any paperwork?

Ask your employer to atleast fax you the approval notice from uscis. Make sure you have this before you leave your current job.
