Is I-140 filing considered as non immigrant visa petition

Hi,
I am new to this forum and was wondering if someone would know if I need to declare on the D-157 that my employer has applied for my non immigrant visa even though my I-140 has not been approved yet. In other words is I-140 considered as a petition for a non immigrant visa?

Would there be any issues while applying for visa in this situation.

You have filed for a IMMIGRANT visa. And you DO NEED to mention that in your DS-156 form.

I am in a similar situation. I have said yes on my form. Now, my wife applied her I-485 along with my appln. What should she answer for the same question "Has anyone every filed an Immigrant Visa Petition on your behalf. If Yes, who? "
