H1b visa expires on Sept 30 2007, Can I goto india and come back before sept 10?

Hi

I am on 1st h1b visa, visa expires on sept 30,2007. In july applied for h1b extension. Can I travel to India before sept 10?Will be there any problem in
port of entry?

My wife is h4 visa, she got h1b and valid from oct, 2007. Can she travel to india August and come back in september.Will be there any problem in
port of entry?

if you have an application pending it will be abandoned once you leave.

If you wife gets back using H4 she cannot automatically go on H1

You can travel

Yes, you can travel as many times as possible on a vailid H-1B visa before its expiry. Your spouse can also travel outside U.S. on a valid H-4 visa without any restrictions. But take care that you are in U.S. for your extension petition, if required.
