Help me urgent (H1 and OPT issue)

Hii,

This is my situation.

I have finished my masters and I have my OPT till March-2008.
I have a cousin who is currently running my payroll during the OPT period.
I filed H1 with an other employer and the agreement is like I need to come to his payroll by the month of Dec.
Rite now my employer ( the person who filed my H1), is compelling me to come under his payroll from Oct 1st.
He just says its not legal to work with an other employer and if I continue to work, my H1 would be canceled.
But I still hold my OPT till Mar 2008.
I still feel, I can work with any employer within my OPT period.
Please correct me If I am Wrong.

if you filed with COS for H1 start date of Oct 1 2007 then you should start then as your status will be H1 then.
