company acquired - need visa stamped

hello,

i have I-797 approval notice with company A but the company got acquired. i was planning to go for visa stamping using the same approval notice along with acquisition documents but company B's lawyer is insisting to file an amendment to get a new approval notice before i go for stamping.

anybody ever been in a similar situation and got visa stamped without filing an amendment, plz share ur experience.
