H1B Query - Can i attend any consulate?

Dear All,

I am working in Chennai and i was issued my B1 & L1 from Chennai consulate last year .

I am planning to attend my H1B interview next month in Mumbai Consulate?

Will the location be a problem since i am from south?

H1, B1, L1 and any other Visa and Why Not

---- It surely is a case of chancing your arm at another US Consulate just becasue you have a B1 and L1 Visa under your belt. You want to show that you can get any Visa from any US Consulate and have your Passport stamped with different Visas so that you can use them any time you want them

---- You are not doing anything wrong or unlawful, but want to prove your mettle for getting Visas and the like.

---- Anyway, why do need a H1. It is a safety net so that you can come to US and change form from L1 to H1. In the event anything happens you will have your B1 and you can continue your stay in the US, look for another H1 sponsorer, transfer the H1 and continue

---- Ultimately, there will be a statement I am not after Visas or money or jobs in the US and such other beautifully worded statements that nobody will be willing to deny or oppose

---- What a way to survive and oppose others in an interlligent way. The forum members may be willing to offer you advise and even enable you to secure the Visa. That will be done anyways (You will go for the Visa interview either at Mumbeai of Chennai and in the event anything happens you have two other Visas to fall back upon
