Please help me i am out of status

Hi All,
I came to US on 2nd june 2007 on H1B and have my SSN also but still looking for a job.I did not get any job yet.I heared that if someone does not get a job in US that means he/she is out of status or illegal.So Please let me know
What should I do? How to maintain my legal status in US.How many options Do I have? Can I convert my H1B to B1?

I would recommend to talk to your lawyer about the latest laws and trends and options.

PS: If you are in IT area and planning to work as a consultant, take note that it is usual that the IT consulting market is little down starting somewhere around October end till mid January.

it's nothing like out of status..two of my frnds came US on H1 in Feb '07...they got job in July '07.....also it depends on candidates performance...and i am telling you to stick to this..u continue u r search as said by 'nuser' n all the best.
