Can I get my wife H4 stamped now

Hi,

I got my H1 B stamped in Feb2007, but i could not go to my US ( my new employer) for pesonal reason.

Then I got married in March and was waiting for my spouse passport, now she have passport.

So my questions are -
1) Can I get her H4 stamped before going to US?

2) Will consolate ask why I have not joined my new emploer ?

3) Do you see any problem in this ?

Not a problem, you can go for H4 visa stamping now.

Yes, you can say that you had informed to your US employer about your impending marriage and had postponed your joining date.

I don't see any problem, i have seen people get wife's H4 stamping after 1 to 1.5 years they got their h1 stamping and they were still in their home country and had never travelled to US. but she should be made well aware of your work details, technology you work on, which company/place etc..If it is a desi IT company and sending you to work in US, then you can take this approach.

But if it is a US consultancy who has sponsered your visa, my suggestion is go to US, work for 1-2 months and then send your wife for H4 with your pay-stubs etc..
