Time required by Mumbai consulate to handover passport

Hi

How much time Mumbai Consultate take to handover passport after approval and stamping of H1B visa.

1) On website it is mentioned that one can collect the passport on very next day from the counter.
2) Or it is delivered by courier within 1 week.

Just want to confirm whether this happens in reality ?

if you want to stick around and collect it yourself you can get it the same day if the interview is done by 12:00 else it is available next day. Then they automatically deliver it via courier.

Check the vfs-website for passport status link it tells you when the passport is available for pickup and where and when it has been shipped.
