Question on H1B invalidation

Hi,

I have an H1B visa from my employer. I have not travelled on this visa. I have received and accepted admission at a business school in USA and wish to apply for an F1 visa now. How do I go about invalidating my H1B visa. I have submitted my resingation to my employer and it has been accepted.

Is it okay to hold an H1B while applying for an F1? Will there be an problems when applying for my F1?

I would greatly appreciate your help in this regard and look forward to your response.

You don't have to do anything with existing H1B. Just gof F1 visa.
