Need Help - Chennai Consulate

It seems Tamilnadu government has announced bandh on Oct 1st. My dependents visa stamping is on Oct 1st, at US Embassy, Chennai. Whether any of you can let me know whether the embassy will work on Oct 1st. If the embassy is closed on Oct 1st what will happen to those who had already booked for Oct 1st. Whether we need to book the dates again? Please help.
