Hi all,
here is my experience at Chennai on oct 5.
after the fingerprinting my ds 157,ds 156,passport hdfc reciept were taken.
I stood in a queue for 15 mins.My interview time was 9 am but i reached early around 7:30 so they put me in the 7:30 appointments line.
Here i want to mention,its better to get a morning apointment as the Vo's tend to get weary during afternoon and evening.But this is not very importnat,if there is any chance try to schedule a morning one.
there weer a lot of ppl for H1.The person just before me got a 221g for not having tax documents and unemployment wages report.The VO was taking nearly 10 mins and checking each and every document.But gave him a 221 g.
My background:2.5 yeras exp in xyz organization in .net
During my turn:
VO:Is this your first time to the US?
Me:yes.
VO
o you have tax documents?[here i though i myt get 221g too 
]
Me:No sir but my employer has told me he can provide if needed.
VO:So are you working somewhere?
Me:Yes,I work in xyz in hyd,AP.
Vo:What do you do in xyz?
Me:I am a software developer in Microsoft technologies.Currently Im working on xxx project.
VO:Can you show me experience letter from xyz?
Me:sure(shown).
VO:returned them and said"your visa is approved".
This lasted only 30 secs,Though i did not have any tax docs he granted me.He did not ask single question abt my US employer or the project i was going for etc....
here i want to mention,I was going through consultant and i dont know anything about him/ the org etc.
THE KEY:CONFIDENCE-be very cool.
answer questions to the point and be specific.
