  • H1b transfer while in India - Subramanya pls help me

    Hi
I have my H1B stamped through and Indian S/W company.
Its been a long time that i have waited for a project but things are not working out as they say that they do not have projects.
I know of a consulting company which says that the H1B can be transfered if i reach US without mentioning it to my employer (i will be on leave for that duration)
I wanted to clarify some things in this situation:
    1) is this transfer possible i.e. in absence of my paystubs.
    2) is this legal
    3) what is Port of Entry. will i have to take care of it.
    4) are there any important things that i have to take care of.

Please help me with these concerns.
    Thanks

Careful with such consulting companies. Once you land in the US,they start their tricks like not paying you on bench,no health insurance, blaming you that your not good enough..so no interview calls. And then having you on bond for ridiculously 2 years and nonsense like that. And at the point of leaving, threatening with lawsuit and cutting off your pay-check. Think about all this. If you are going to the US, go and work for a proper US organization.
Look at the way this consulting company has said to leave without the knowledge of the former employer. That itself sounds shady. Any other organization will see how you left your previous except our great indian consulting firms who beg us to join them and ruin our peace of mind and lives. Irrespective of who your prospective employer is going to be, it is the norm to leave gracefully on a good note and inform your former employer and not run off like how the consulting company has advised you. All the best!

          I am still on H1, so part-time is not allowed...lol .
Thanks for appreciating my previous posts.

As for bad employers, I feel there is no solution until the federal government decides to stop this rot. I am sure they are aware of everything thats going on. If you ask me, 2-3 simple additional requirements/rules will eradicate a lot of the existing nonsense in immigration, especially H1B. But my opinion will remain opinion.

I am not sure if you are aware of this scam, but by visiting the following links/webpages you can see the extent of misuse of H1B and exploitation of H1B visa holders by Indian employers:

          http://en.*********.org/wiki/Lakireddy_Bali_Reddy

          Entire coverage at
          http://www.rediff.com/us/reddy.htm

Much more available on the web if you search, there are many more Indian employers convicted on various counts of charges, but this tops the list. I still think the US govt. is turning a blind eye to the H1B immigration scam.

If you knew about this then I am sure many others will see this as an eye opener.

I had a cheap experience with one guy and thats why am here advising other people not to fall in the same hole. They say "do not generalize" but havent we seen numerous cases where people have gone to consultants and face problems? Really pathetic..i just read what you sent. It will be nice to see the US govt throw such fellows in the Atlantic or why even let them in? I didnt know about this nor did I know about indian-consultants until I had my own problems.
