H1B and L1 Blanket

Hi there,

I have landed in a peculiar situation.

I have filed for H1B through a shopper from US for the April 2007 quota.
and its not yet approved, but got selected. Mean while my present company wanna file Blanket L1 for me.

Now my query is that, as both are PETITIONs, can I go file for Blanket L1 through my present Company. If I file this, and if my H1B got approved, then what will be the status of L1.

Would appreciate for the early reply.

You are out side US.

Getting H1 petition approval does not give any hold to you, unless that H1 is stamped as visa in your passport and you enter US and get I 94 card with caveat "H1B"

So, you can apply as many H1 as you wants through US companies, but no use unless atleast with one approved H1 you must obtain H1 visa from an US embassy.

Bottom line, you can go to US with L1 with no problem. Since your H1 is not approved (even approve) , better try L1.
