H1- Visa after 6 yrs - extension

Hi ,

My visa is going to expire in 10 months.This is my sixth year.if i apply a green card now is it possible to extend my visa after 6 yr.

Ah!

Your H1B visa is not directly or indirectly linked with your permanent residency application.

You can apply for your green card, no matter what your H1B status is.

You can also separately file for extension which will upon approval be given to you for one year and this needs to be repeated each year.

if we clear the labor processing then is it possible to get the h1 extension for a year?

I read in one artcle the GC PD date should be one year old then only we would be able to get the h1 extension? Please let me know your thoughts.
