  • L1 to H1 COS

    Hi,

Currently I am on L1 and working with company A in USA and I have my H1B application approved.

If I apply for COS (change of status from L1 to H1) and after the status got approved (ex: Dec 10 th), can I work with company A for 1 -2 months (Ex:25- Jan 2008)?

If I am not supposed to work with Company A after status changed to H1(ex: Dec 10 th), When I need to resign the job with company A.

    Hi Ram,

Once you change the status from L1 to H1, it not legal to work with Company A..

      Srinni,

Thanks for your reply. If it is not legal what would be the better time to leave the company A, hoping I am getting the COS approved on Dec 10th.

But I saw people are working for company A (with their L1) for the Notice period of 15 days/ 1Month after their COS approved and status changed to H1(Similar to my Case). Would it be a problem in future while GC processing.

      Ram.
