Today i had successful h1b stamping at chennai US consulate.
Background: i was with company X on L1 visa for last 3 years (my total experience with them is 8 years). company Y had applied for my H1 but i have not yet started working for them. the entire visa interview process lasted only 5 mins.
I & wife: good morning
VO: good morning
(he started typing something)
VO: how long you have been working for company Y
I: not yet started working, i just have an offer letter from them
VO: what project you will be working
I: i'll not know until i reach USA and report to company Y. It may be inhouse project or client based.
VO: ok, your visa has been granted and your passport will be delivered in next 3 days
I & wife: Thank you
No questions for my wife at all..she was coming as H4...
Possible reasons for my visa:
1) company X is one among top 5 IT companies in India
2) company Y may have a good visa track record
3) my experience
