Mistake in DS-156 FORM

Dear senior members,

After going through several posts in this forum, i found that you can guide me. Here is my situation given below.

My visa appointment date is on 5th Dec 2007 at chennai. Unfortunately i have entered incorrect passport expiry date in DS-156 form. When i try to edit the form in VFS, i am unable to edit the details.

Can any one tell me how to rectify this issue?

I tried by sending a query to chennai consulate they replied that i can c
orrect before consulate officer but final decision is taken by consulate officer, he may reject Visa also.. if required.

Any body has faced simlar situation, please let me know. Your guidance is highly appreciated.

You can fix the error during the time of the interview

Make sure to inform the AMCON officer about it.

Thanks a lot, one more clarification . Do i need to get this clarified with pre screening officer (VFS Personnel) or with Visa Officer directly? Can you please clarify this.

Imform @ both places, specifically the AMCON officer ...

You can inform the vfs personnel or the VO at the time of your interview. Sometimes such mistakes do happen and vfs/VO corrected the mistake.
