H1b renewal and new H4 visa issuance

Hi,

I have a H1 visa valid until June 2008 and H1B petition approval until Feb 2010. I am getting married in Feb 2008. So, can me and my would-be wife attend the Chennai consulate in Feb 2008 (after marriage)at the same time for my H1B visa renewal and also her first-time H4 stamping. In other words can a visa renewal and a new visa issuance be coupled in the same visa appointment at the Consulate. Also, is it possible to collect the passport the same day in Chennai consulate.
