H1-B VISA interview - issue with passport number

I have a HDFC receipt with my old passport number. I got a new passport sometime back in US because the old passport expired. Can I still book the appointment using the old passport number as in the HDFC receipt?

I also have to apply for H4 for my wife. Do I need to take separate appointment for her (We are planning to attend the interview on the same day)?

My old passport expired and I received the new passport before applying for the HDFC receipt though.

---- You can take an appointment for your wife's H4 as a dependent while taking your H1 appointment
