L1 to H4

I have a valid L1 Visa and already travelled to US once.
Now I got married and got H4 Visa recently.

Now i resigned my company which gave me L1. Should i cancel that Visa instead to travel on H4? Is it a mandator? If yes, how many days will it take to cancel L1. and How to do it?

I think your L1 visa automatically stands invalid if you do not have any IN USA project assignments. Also you have left the company so no need to cancel it I think but I am not sure too. May be you will have to mention in H4 visa application that you had a valid L1
