H1B Extension?

Hi,
My H1B expires on 31March2008. I am in US for the past 2 years. I have asked my employer to get an Extension. he says , he is Working on it. I have sent all my documents to the Attorney, and when i ask the Attorney, if i am all set, he says, ask your HR. When i ask my HR he says, everything is good so far and we will take care of it.

I am with the same employer from the time i came to US 2 years back.

My HR also says it is better to go to India for getting H1B visa extension ie, stamping. Some of my friends say i need not go to canada or india for stamping for H1B extension.

I need clear information on this. Please guide.

You dont need to go if you have a renewed petition with new I-94.

Ask your employer, its their responsibility to file for extension. May be its late to file, but you always have the option of Premium Processing.
