Hi
I am on H4 visa - my I94 has recently been revalidated in US based on my husband's H1. But the extension has not been stamped on my passport yet. I am also going to apply for H1 (from a non-profit org) in April / May.
I have 2 questions in this regard:
1) I have plans to visit India. Obviously I would have to get H4 stamped before that trip or while in India. But I hear there is lot of risk in applying for H4 stamping in India.... So, what about doing so in Mexico / Canada?? Has anyone done it recently?
2) If I visit India (after sorting out visa issues), please confirm that I cannot apply for H1 until after I return to US (i.e, I can't apply for H1 and visit India and come back on H4).
Has anyone been in this situation before? I appreciate any replies.
