Have a "simple" question. Does using advance parole (AP) for entering the USA change the current nonimmigrant status? My wife is in H4 (I'm H1B accordingly), we have AP for travel (we have I-485 pending with I-140). My wife also has EAD card, but she never used it, therefore she is in H4 status so far. Now, she travels abroad, comes back using AP. Which status will she be in? Still H4? Or using AP automatically put you in the "parolee" status and H4 status is cancelled?
Please help me understand this situation as our travel time is dangerously close.
