H1 delay,finger print verification

hi,
I am working in US and came for vacation to inida and have attended the interview for H1 stamping on Jan 28, 2008 at chennai consulate. Consular said,i will get my passport in a week. Still i have not received. i have called up Consulate guys, and the answer is , it still under finger print verification. not sure when it will be cleared.


is any one had face this situation?

Wanted to know if you have got the passport back. I am travelling to india on vacation for 4 weeks and was wondering if that would be sufficient to get back my passport on time.

i have not received passport...and also not sure about the timeframe..
