I hope you can help to ask my question. I'm currently working with a company under my OPT. My OPT will expired in June, and my employer will apply an H1 visa for me; if successful, my H1 visa will start in Oct. However, the lawyer was unclear of explaining my status between June till Oct. The lawyer said i have to maintain F1 student during that time, in which i have to take some classes in a school. My question is do i really need to take classes?? Because I know F1 student doesn't need to take classes during summer time, which is around June-Aug? If so, do i need to start taking classes in Sept when school starts and discontinue classes and work again in OCT when i get my H1? I hope you can answer my question because if i need to take classes to maintain F1 student status, I need to find a school to enroll very soon.
