Discontinuation of H-1 B Visa

There is an article in ' India Abroad' dated Sept 21 that one of the congressman/senator has introduced a bill to discontinue the H-1B visa. The main argument is that there are enough number of people seeking jobs here, so why we need foreign workers on H-1B visa. Any comments.

This is not going to become law

Gee, just another bill. Forget about it. Stuff like this is never going to go very far. Usually, these kinds of bills die in the committees already, they are never even voted on.

Follow up

There is big news in India Abroad Dated Sept 26 about H-1 B visa. The President Bush is aware of this bill and he has shown his opposition to this bill. So many organizations has given their representations to oppose this bill. Senator Orin Hatch also does not like the idea of discontinuaton of H-1B. So overall it looks like good news.
