L1 to H1 Stamping possible at Mexico Border?

Hi,

Can someone throw light on the possibilities of getting L1 to H1 stamped at US/MX border viz., Cd Juverez, Matamoras etc.,?

I am on L1 and have H1 approved from last year, now I plan to shift over
to H1 employer I need to go out to get stamping. The company that sponsored H1 is recommending me to go to Cd Juverez next to Tx border.

Any suggestions?
