h4 visa refused

Hi,
I am on H1B visa in USA from 3 and half years,I got married in 2002 may,recently my wife went to chennai consulate for her H4 Visa,For some reason they refused to give her visa.
Last year she applied for H1 Visa which is refused,Is there any link btween her first application H1 Visa and H4 visa application?
Can she apply again?
They told her not to apply for H4 visa again untill I got green card,I dont understand the logic.

What re u doing now, are u guys reapplying for the H4 visa.
i am also facing the same problem. My wife is applying her documents through mailing them to counsulate, is the denial under section 214b or 221g.

so now they started refusing h4.

I don't think there is a way for you to apply for H4 for your wife after you get green card. Then she has to have her own green card or other visa (like H1). (Actually she will have green card based on your green card application)
Hence don;t listen to what the consular said. Try to get as many docs as possible and apply again
