Transfer between companies while the initial H-1B application is in process

I am on OPT status until January 2009. I recently obtained a full time position with a company who will be applying for my H-1B in April 2008 under the Master's quota.

Is it possible to switch companies while my H-1B application with that company is still in process?

If possible, can you describe the process for someone on OPT? More specifically,

1. Do I have to wait until my H-1B with the initial company gets approved (in October)before I can port my H-1B to another company?

2. How many pay stubs do I need with the initial company before I can transfer to another company?

You dont need any pay stubs if you are transferring ur H1B even bfore it starts. You can easily do this. Once your h1b application is accepted just ask the attorney for a transfer to a different employer. No problem with tht.
