H1b with 221(g) blue form, can I apply for B1?

Hi All,
I attended my H1b Visa interview in Feb-2008 and Visa officer given me 221(g) blue form asking for employer related information.I submitted all those documents and waiting for response from consulate.Now my current employer is asking me to apply B1.Can I apply for B1? What happens to my H1 if apply for B1.My B1 get the approval?Please help me.

As far as I know , B1 and H1 are totally different , there should nt b any problem , I was in ur situation and some how they have nt issued my B1 , Because I didnt provide proper documents for B1 ... U can go ahead for B1 ..

When i check my case status with USCIS it showing following message
Application Type: I129, PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER

1.Whome should i contact !! Can any one give me the contact number??


2.Its almost 1year completed can any one tell me.When can i get response.
can i attend B1 visa from current company though my H1 is pending.
