H1 transfer while Spouse is on H4 & out of USA

Hi,
My wife is in India and I need to get my H1 transfer in the mean time. I understand that it takes about 10 days to get receipt from state department and upto 1 month to get H1 transfer from one employer to another.

My wife will be back in about 20 days.
Should I wait till she comes back or can I initiate the transfer?

If I initiate the transfer:

Will it impact her on travelling back in any way?
Which employer will she tell the immegration people at teh airport in case they ask?
What additional documents will she need?
My present employer provided with a dependant travel letter

--> Not really. She should have a valid H4 visa stamped on her passport.

Which employer will she tell the immigration people at the airport in case they ask?

--> They usually don't ask about the employer. However, in the rare occasion that they do ask, she should tell the truth of whatever is the current situation at the time she's @ POE.

What additional documents will she need?

--> A copy of your approved H1B if available, otherwise I don't think she needs anything else, specifically.
