  • Visa appointment date with Chennai US Consulate

    Hi,
I am working in USA and planning to travel to India in June 2008. I need to get my Visa stamped in my passport at Chennai US Consulate. I am trying to schedule an appointment. I can see the latest appointment dates available is May 2,2008. I want appointment only in June. When I click June, it says interview dates are not available. Please check after 24 hours. I tried several times and I am getting the same message. Anyone had this experience?
    Thanks
    Akil

It means that the window of June appointments has not yet opened up. They have slots open if one wants an appointment in May. You will have to wait till you see your preferred dates. This does not mean that all June appointments are gone. In fact, they are available but not currently open to be scheduled.

state of residence problem on visa appointment

            Hi,

My wife has a visa interview appointment in Chennai this month. She is in US for the past 1 year and is going to the consulate
to change her status from H1 to H4. When making an appointment, she selected "Indian citizen resident in the US" and filled
all the forms with her address in Andhra Pradesh. However, her appointment shows her "State of Residence" as TamilNadu.

Is it an error or is it because she is in US for the past 1 year? Please help.
            Thank you!!!

              Hi,

I had the same issue. I am from Andhra Pradesh but apparently VFS assigns Tamil Nadu as the state in the appointment confirmation letter when you say you are an Indian citizen residing in US. I attended my Visa appointment on Nov. 24th and I had no issues about this. You can breathe easy about this issue. If you are still doubtful, call the VFS help line during their working hours and they will help you.

              Cheers,
