H1-B Extension

ALL, Hi:

My H1-B first 3 year term is getting end by SEP and so asked my employer to file for an extension.
They have started the extension processing.

Looks I will have to go back to India since my assignment is getting over byt April.
My doubt is if my employer filed my extension and If I leave US befoer my first 3 year completion, am I still eligible to go for extension stamping.

OR will my extension filed will become invalid since I have left US before 3 year completion.

Please someone clarify.

Extension will be processed and can be used in the future for stamping if you are going to come back for the same employer.
