    back of I 94

    The back of I94 says

    Manage
    WAC 07 YYYY YYYY X
    Company YYYY XX

The company mentioned is my previous employer.

I think you are authorized to work only for the employer listed on the back of your latest I-94.

        you sure?

Why should it be? Even if I was working with my previous employer at that time, received my I94 and changed employers, I will be working with a different employer than the one mentioned in the back of I94?

        Isn't this a fair assumption?

I think that is how the POE officer would note it as you do not have approval from USCIS to work for new company on a pending petition.

Once you have the approval I797 from new company approved, it would be fine. Talk to your attorney. This seems to be the norm from what I have seen and read. As I have not experienced this personally, post what your attorney says.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
